Policies and Guidelines
I am ready to place an order. What’s next?
Once you are ready to place an order, please contact us at 314-644-6100. Tell the operator you would like to place a textbook rebinding order. You will be transferred and one of our friendly customer service coordinators will help get you started. You will need to fill out a
Shipping Information Form (SIF) and send us a copy of your purchase order. Please contact a customer service coordinator if a purchase order is not available.
How should I ship my books to you?
In order to reduce the possibility of books being damaged or lost during delivery, please ship in durable boxes, such as those supplied by USPS or UPS. Number each box you are shipping on the outside of the box.
What should I include in my shipment?
Please include a copy of the SIF and your purchase order with your books. On the SIF, you must complete the inventory list with the title, ISBN, and quantity of the textbooks you are sending us to be rebound. Books received without this information will be held until the customer can be reached and the information is provided. Production will begin once the inventory list is confirmed to match the books received.
How do you determine if a book is suitable for binding?
All book pages are trimmed during the rebinding process to ensure a long‐lasting bind and to restore the pages to a like‐new appearance. Trimming requires margins of one‐eighth inch from the text and one‐quarter inch from the spine. Books that do not meet these specifications are unsuitable for binding. Also, in order to be acceptable for rebinding, a book may not exceed three inches in thickness.
What will you do with books considered unsuitable for binding?
Books that are considered unsuitable for binding will be returned or discarded based on the customer’s request. Please see the SIF for further information.
What is the standard time frame for book rebinding?
The standard production time is three weeks, not including shipping, from time of delivery. Please contact a customer service coordinator to inquire about rush orders or to specify a delivery date.
What does your lifetime guarantee entail?
San Val is pleased to offer a lifetime guarantee on our binding. If at any time you are dissatisfied with the quality or workmanship of the binding of your books, you may return the books for repair or replacement. The lifetime guarantee is specific to the quality and permanence of the binding under normal wear‐and‐tear conditions.
